You Seem To Be In An Awful Temper

You seem to be in an awful temper
I didn’t mean to ruffle your petticoat
Just trying to assuage discomfort
Ma’am, I must return to the boat
Incidents may have occurred
Darkness cloaks many a stumble
I bid you remember me fondly
For you leave me broken & humble

  1. “Broken and humbled” she was probably upset cause he did something that he knew better not to do. So she gets upset. But he wasn’t listening before so he has no idea. Just guessing lol. Great write!

    1. I was thinking that they weren’t on the same page & the communication was flawed. She thinks he’s an asshole, but he leaves with regret on how everything went down. I don’t usually see such a story within my poems, but I did on this one. Thank you for your thoughts & compliment. čśâ
