I Know What I’m Looking For

I know what I’m looking for

It’s not pasted on subway walls

It isn’t the object in a marketing ploy

Sold souls, decrepit & lost in the Fall

Expensive goods you thought would heal

But you’re still wandering in the night

Please go to bed, there’s nothing to see here

These poor decisions beget more that won’t relight

Scale back to discover who you used to be

Truth & value often are stubborn & prefer to hide

Never forget when you knew your self-worth

You’ll regain your composure & walk again on the sunny side
