I’m Not A Digital Lover

boy-366311.jpg

I’m not a digital lover
Asking for hints of your new bra
I can’t compete with airbrushed lies
I’m an outcast; ignored with wounds still raw
Don’t mistake me for society’s goon
Not here to give you a complex or three
I’m not a troll to lure you into submission
I’m just a pirate looking to be free

Slow reveal behind the mask

But there’s no dick pics

No matter how politely you ask

I’m gonna keep something for me

Reality to keep up with illusion

You’re drooling over my secrets

Obviously tainted by your delusion

*Yes, I keep using this pic, but only because it is one of my favorites

** No, I’m not usually this vain

Hitting Rock Bottom With An Articulate Woman

Hitting rock bottom with an articulate woman

Now I can see love was not in her view

Misguided choices of delicate wonder

Bringing to the forefront curiosity anew

You may call it a travesty or much worse

I am merely a person of no consequence

Our downfalls reside within our own skin

Hate me, but no blame for her moral sense

I never knew her purpose & never asked

Burned once for being too close to her wiles

Recoiled with her artifice grasped at last

Any form of compassion was not her style

Kissing Three Wee Heads

sailing-boat-569336.jpg

Kissing three wee heads
Sleep well now, lasses
Fatherhood softened my heart
Praying now, as I wipe my glasses
Lord, I ask you desperately
Please watch over my humble home
Protect & care for these beauties
Before the mast I’m forced to roam

I Don’t Think You’re Better Than Me

portrait-931729.jpg

I don’t think you’re better than me
Running tired fingers through my hair
You’re an apparition of your feeble mind
A moment forgotten – vanished in the air
Though your hatred is real enough today
I’ll gently ask you to keep your composure
A gentleman shall not tolerate outbursts
Besides, your ineptitude is dying of exposure

Endless Hours

pair-347220

Endless hours of love on café sidewalks
The world was beautiful & we were free
We were together; we were holding hands
& we were as happy as we could be
But then we were separated & deprived
The days are not so lovely & bright
I shall never let them get the better of us
For I shall spend every day in this fight
When they ask me why I can still smile
‘I know what true love is’ will be my reply
This world is weak compared to my love
Know that you are always the gleam in my eye
