I’m Tired Of All The Mouthpieces & Talking Heads

I’m tired of all the mouthpieces & talking heads
I don’t trust anything on the network news
Congress & corporations are intertwined
Aimed at denying our dreams, if they could choose
But I’m not going to buy into their systems
I’m not going to line up for them to call me by name
We have to figure out a better way
Or we’ll all be taken under by institutionalized shame
I don’t want to live in a world propelled by evil
I believe this hateful environment is only getting hotter
Can we not view our neighbors as equals
What kind of world are we leaving for our daughters?

We Don’t Have To Agree

architecture-1840182.jpg

We don’t have to agree
Friendship doesn’t require
Eyeball to eyeball to see
Equal respect is all we desire
You think those silly thoughts
I believe I’m right with mine
Together to deal with our lot
Common courtesy allows us to be just fine

Pretty & Dainty Steps In The Cold

girl-1275655_1920.jpg

Pretty & dainty steps in the cold
Compact beauty with everyone
A separate class than my own
Watching out for the forgotten sun
Sleek & perfect presentation
Though something is amiss
Hoping for a soul of equal proportion
Not wishing to dissipate this kiss

I Won’t Judge You

john-work-garrett-library-211375.jpg

I won’t judge you for your past
I don’t care how your body looks
Inward – we all contain equal souls
We can all absorb the beauty of books
Go read! Fitzgerald, Kerouac, Twain
Emerson, Rand, Tolstoy, Hemingway
Thoreau, Dostoyevsky, Neruda, Yeats
Great words are forever here to stay
It is solely up to you
To build up your literary wealth
But I will constantly judge you
For the contents of your bookshelf
