Laissez Faire

img_0546

Good morning, Beautiful

I’ve brought some coffee to share

Bathe me in your deep caresses

Make me abandon my laissez faire

Intentions have never been pure

I exist in complicated ways

I believe in healthy love & lust

& setting fire to our communiques

I Have Rogue Ideas About Loving Women

people-2589818.jpg

I have rogue ideas about loving women
She’s magical; youth when I’m feeling old
I love my woman like I like my coffee
Invigorated that she’s tall, busty & bold
Our mutual happiness is intertwined
Late nights – breathing passionate fire
Proclaiming she’s the only woman for me
Contented when she’s singing to the Angel’s choir

I’m Tired, Weary, Fatigued, However You Want To Call It

nature-2576510_1920.jpg

I’m tired, weary, fatigued, however you want to call it
This world is tearing itself apart, with no end in sight
Neighbors can’t stand the appearance of each other
If we don’t swerve, we’re all going to face the fiery night
Reject hate, reject them, reject the world’s system
I don’t care if kindness long ago went out of fashion
Don’t accept your options, make your own way
We need return to art, return to love & compassion
‘They’ are anyone who’ll tell you we can’t survive
Without stooping down to unconscionable degrees
Rebel, refuse & reclaim enlightenment & love
Lead ourselves away from their dysfunctional societies
God reserves a place in Hell for those who spout hate
Whether you believe in Christ or what Buddha taught
Love doesn’t see the differences between us
We can do better; a peaceful way must be sought
Politicians are no more than door to door salesmen
Fraudulent purveyors of the American dreamscape
But we, the silent underground, emerging each day
Fed up with their vision, proof that heroes don’t wear capes

Emerging From The Night Of Lost Souls

mask-2889013_1920.jpg

Emerging from the night of lost souls
A rough morning with make-up in your eyes
Playing with fire when you dressed like Hell
You believed the Devil when he whispered his lies
Another Mardi Gras extinguished
But your heart now belongs to the man of flames
You don’t remember how your dress got burnt
Or how your lovely chest was branded with his name

*I wrote this for Halloween, but never shared it. So I swapped in Mardi Gras because of my superb timing… It doesn’t make as much sense, but you never expected such high notions from me.

Want To Know What Makes A Cheery Life?

library-2616960_1920.jpg

Want to know what makes a cheery life?
It starts with wanting to release your pain
The intention to pursue that happiness
In spite of all the misery which might remain
You might not always be able to smile
But somewhere within you needs to be the desire
To crawl out from under your melancholy
To find a life that’ll set your soul on fire

Forgiving The Passionate Hubris

railway-2439189_1920.jpg

Forgiving the passionate hubris

The least fractured figment of my ire

But I’m not competing for affection

Denounced for their fateful friendly fire

So I’m taking the eastbound train

To remove myself from the glitterati

The Urban gentry called for my death

Betrayed by those who are rash & haughty

The train tumbles on through the rain

Steaming towards the next Highland city

Needing a respite from those judgements

From the girls who love to be called pretty

Those Matchbox Fantasies

person-1281651.jpg

Those matchbox fantasies

Gunmetal grey panties with soft pink polka dots

She placed a stiletto in her wooden leg

Character assassination plots go all for naught

An Eastern European Gypsy

She’s hiding a switchblade under that dress

She’s dangerous down to her core

A beautiful woman – you don’t want to mess

Beware of their corrosive accolades

There’s no exoneration in the line of fire

She’s insolent about your theoretical love

In the end, she’s killed you with her underwire

Within The Redefining Of Desire

model-1954082.jpg

Within the redefining of desire
Subtle notes of evening’s confines
The heat of the heart’s pure fire
Nothing but love could ever outshine
Unsnapped garters; my secret delusions
I’m forever lost within her brassiere
Butterflies & their innocent intrusions
Each step closer I approach without fear
Her blush blooming from skin so ashen
Coaxed her vigor with her bodice on the floor
Abandoned all reason, condoning reckless passion
I promise a vouchsafed love forever & more
