Words Can Mean More Than We Realize

Words can mean more than we realize
With truth dripping from what’s unsaid
The contents of a heart not easily known
Modesty & propriety leaving legs unspread
But I wish I recite a simple loving life
Following & delving between the stacks
Surrounded by such grand beauty
Oh Lady, you’ve got an amazing rack!

The Carcasses Of Inspiration

The carcasses of inspiration
Wine glasses with Burgundy residue
Speaking to late nights & early mornings
Scribbles in the margin on the follow through
Feeling parched as I wake
Noticing your lipstick stains
Upon the rim of the glass
Reminding me of the dreams that remain
Bleary eyed, drinking the coffee grounds
Searching for a fate within the dregs
Fumbling over these typewriter keys
Lightheaded when I see your naked legs
Your smile is a distraction
But you pop a button & then one more
I’m at your complete mercy
Once the nightgown hits the floor

Acid Rain & My Coffee’s Gettin’ Wetter

cup-1276775.jpg

Acid rain & my coffee’s gettin’ wetter
Lost in the passageway of my hotel room
Feelin’ a bit down in the passin’ days
How do I tell my girl I’ve been consumed
What’s learned through life isn’t always truth
I’m still searching for anything that’s real
Whose path have you decided to follow
In the end, life depends on what you can feel

Maybe Those Were The Days

Maybe those were the days
I wasn’t so perfect, structured or neat
Rebelling against all humanity
Could’t tell the difference in defeat
A crooked line to follow
A wrinkled brow upon the figurehead
Our dreams fractured when applied
Lost within reality’s pragmatism instead
