Heading West Like Horace Greeley Once Said

Heading west like Horace Greeley once said
Returning to our fractured American shores
Shining seas & the purple mountains majesty
No politician could make me cease to longer adore
My love of country goes further than just today
The Antichrist’s heir apparent, blights & plagues
No one person represents our nation’s pride
Not from Washington nor down to the dregs

Forgiving The Passionate Hubris

Forgiving the passionate hubris

The least fractured figment of my ire

But I’m not competing for affection

Denounced for their fateful friendly fire

So I’m taking the eastbound train

To remove myself from the glitterati

The Urban gentry called for my death

Betrayed by those who are rash & haughty

The train tumbles on through the rain

Steaming towards the next Highland city

Needing a respite from those judgements

From the girls who love to be called pretty

Life Gets Complicated – A Furious Mess

palm-336688.jpg

Life gets complicated – a furious mess

Undisclosed pain seeping out at the worst time

Stress building towards a fatal fracture

Exit stage right – I need an island & a lime

I want to get my toes dirty in the sand

& find a way to cleanse this sutured heart

To be free from the burden of this memory

To become salt laden before it all falls apart

Maybe Those Were The Days

Maybe those were the days
I wasn’t so perfect, structured or neat
Rebelling against all humanity
Could’t tell the difference in defeat
A crooked line to follow
A wrinkled brow upon the figurehead
Our dreams fractured when applied
Lost within reality’s pragmatism instead
