I’m Rockin’ This Dad Bod

walking-1081723.jpg

I’m rockin’ this dad bod
& making it look good
Unapologetically localized
Home in Suburban neighborhoods
I’m not trying to distract
Any of the ladies living nearby
I’m just trying to live my life
I’m just a normal boring guy
I’m prematurely grumpy
A hermit; writing down in the dungeon
Devastatingly handsome, locked away
Keep out! – here be a curmudgeon

Life Has A Way Of Working Out

coffee-690349.jpg

Life has a way of working out

When you rise in the early morning hours

Sip your coffee & focus on the positive

You’ll find inner strength, not superpowers

Quietly sending out the proper vibes

Some days – be humble & pay your dues

Keep calm & marinate in your good karma

For soon, you’ll be running around in your Underoos

Staring Into A Blank Page

man-505353.jpg

Staring into a blank page
Where can we take this from here
Will you support an unattractive soul
Will I always find friends of good cheer
I question the future as if it weren’t sold
Please tell me we still have a chance to be free
I type out thoughts that you might never know
But throughout time & space, you’ve meant more to me

Read Tosha’s Book!

This little beauty just showed up from the good people at Amazon! I’m super excited to read it. Like, more excited than 37 year old should be about anything at all. It’s kinda embarrassing. If you don’t know Tosha Michelle, then you’re behind the 8 Ball. Please check her out – I mean check out her blog. And her books!

Here’s a pic I used back a few months with her poetry book next my grandfather’s typewriter. It’s a great book. & I try to use the typewriter daily.

My words won’t do her justice. Please just see for yourself. 😀💚✨

islands far off in the chain

girl-923573.jpgislands far off in the chain
boat drinks to ease the pain
faded footprints in the sand
wondering what to understand
the wrong ones seem to fall
emptying into life’s easy stall
try to wipe away transgression
avoid the depths of depression
find something good and well
broken bottles in that old hotel
whispers in a decadent night
clothes falling within my sight
my soul feels damaged & scraped
walking away, only to escape
