The Carcasses Of Inspiration

The carcasses of inspiration
Wine glasses with Burgundy residue
Speaking to late nights & early mornings
Scribbles in the margin on the follow through
Feeling parched as I wake
Noticing your lipstick stains
Upon the rim of the glass
Reminding me of the dreams that remain
Bleary eyed, drinking the coffee grounds
Searching for a fate within the dregs
Fumbling over these typewriter keys
Lightheaded when I see your naked legs
Your smile is a distraction
But you pop a button & then one more
I’m at your complete mercy
Once the nightgown hits the floor

Standing Quietly With The Cool Air Creeping

winter-598632.jpg

Standing quietly with the cool air creeping
Clickedy-clackedy of the mechanical keys
An accountability of evasive thought
Vulnerable notions of varying degrees
Looking for a grip of nostalgia
Something to shake loose my memories
Pulling tight my old man cardigan
Watching for the magic from within the trees

I’m Pounding These Keys

typewriter-1148939.jpg

I’m pounding these keys

Trying to create a landmark

Something to last through time

A rhyme to set off a sudden spark

I’m vain in ways I won’t admit

A schedule of words upon the page

Formulas/equations for me to disconnect

Memories for after I’ve withered into age

Lovely Flowers/Well Intentioned

entrepreneur-593357.jpg

Lovely flowers/well intentioned
Nothing to replace frigid remorse
A broken vase with contents spilled
Life mistook its proper course
Banging away at the languid keys
Trying to create some tranquility
Which one left in stagnate appeal
Can’t escape your own responsibility

“Eating the peach is a meditation. Your mind empties of all the must dos and should have dones. You are pure being. Your lover’s tongue is the key that turns the lock that opens the pleasure box. Life has few perfect moments; moments of cunnilingus score the highest on the sex blissometer.”

Celestial Bodies Writhe

Celestial bodies writhe

Stars may not be an answer

But they may be a key

At the end of the Earth

You find no more ground

Dust falling off the coast

Sail around for awhile

Nurture love & freedom

Return to find me here

Within you, I find truth

A value to be upheld

Know the stark secret
