Dreaming Of A Forgotten Summer

Dreaming of a forgotten summer

Youth; wild eyes & full of spice

The hope only the fresh may know

Never finding your innocence twice

The Good Lord blesses us daily

The sun’s warmth will always provide

Moments to bask, wading in the water

Burdens swept in the outgoing tide

Eyeing the inevitable future

Knowing we must make ourselves free

Standing strong with cheerful hearts

& worries washing themselves out to sea

Something Fine

She wasn’t fazed by them looking at her. She had become used to it after the years. At first, it made her uncomfortable, but now she didn’t mind. It would be unfair to say she enjoyed the leers, but she still remembered the times when no one wanted to stare at her. She was tall and awkward, slightly geeky despite being close to thirty.

~

I didn’t listen to the buzz surrounding me. I didn’t care about any of it. I could see her and enjoyed what I saw. The whispered comments from the corners of the room and the crass locker room talk could not destroy what I thought was special. She was a fine woman, nothing but her own-self could tarnish that.

Society has an infectious need to tear down anything positive. It locks in on it and crushes it out of envy, misunderstanding and pure, unadulterated spite. Individual persons can be trusted. People are evil. You can never be sure that groups of three or more won’t try to rip you apart.

“Excuse me.” She smiled her demure, yet encouraging smile. I held my coffee high over her head. I didn’t want to spill as she passed by me. It was a tight squeeze, though it wasn’t mandatory she come as close as she did. Her hands on my hips as she shuffled by was definitely an extra bit she threw in.

It lasted for mere seconds, but I never let that memory leave me. A twinkle came to my eye whenever I thought of her. An innocent moment filled with the possibility of so much more. You have to be grateful for these moments. They remind you that you are alive.

A Wink From Her To Get My Heart A-Revving

people-2563426_1920.jpg

A wink from her to get my heart a-revving
Her pink negligee hanging below her knee
Soft skin turns into hardened intentions
The promise of a night of debauchery
A bouquet not desired, but a single bloom
Visions of adulation thoroughly taut
I’m rigidly attuned with her frequency
A fine suited man removing a Windsor knot
Fastened to my bedpost; a sailor can surely tie
Settling down with this libertine, methinks
A pretty picture of a delicious woman
Purely polished reflections in my cufflinks
Post coital; passion overflowing this room
Perfection amid people imperfectly real
Precious moments that I’ll never forsake
My woman’s love, allowing me to constantly heal

I See You’re Feeling Sassy

I see you’re feeling sassy
Now it is time for you to kneel
Pour us another cup of tea, Dear
Your lace details for me to feel
There’s a swing to your strut
Moments of electric bliss to share
Finding pleasure within serving
Another tea party in our underwear

Where Are These Precious Moments

people-2568645_1920.jpg

Where are these precious moments
Stolen from our heads while we slept
Dwindling doses from the nation’s night
We’re treading water, but we’re out of our depth
Curled up on the dilapidated chaise lounge
Rethinking the possibilities of our crisis
Just a refugee from society’s judgement
Seeking enlightenment in spite of our vices

The World Keeps On Spinning Without Us

man-2933984_1920.jpg

The world keeps on spinning without us
But it can’t stop me from loving you
Time & distance are temporary burdens
Until this deployment is finally through
I take each day as a stepping stone
Cherishing all that you’ll forever mean to me
Through the years we’ve survived strife
For this isn’t the first moment of adversity

Trading Euphemisms In The Dark

woman-683334

Trading euphemisms in the dark
Blankets piled high on the bed
Finding warmth between ourselves
Love inhabits where fear can’t tread
Sheets getting tangled in our bodies
Chorus of breathing getting thick
Cherishing & celebrating each moment
Grateful she still let’s me dip my wick

College Magnetic Poetry Vol. 1

I eat her peach, like it was a screaming bed
Rob lathered her pink butt, like I said
She urges me to lick the bare breasts, or no head
They want the mist under the dress, and she is red
I cry, but think those rose petals are like a knife
My woman moans as we fall with spring through life
Smell sweet honey like a purple forest o’ eggs
He sees my finger smear next to the smooth hot leg
Watching two girls waxin’ & milkin’ without you
The gorgeous goddess needs his languid tongue to be true
Deliriously drunk & a repulsive moment recalls an ugly day
I felt the beauty whispering lust, wanting to play
Sweat leaves my apparatus juicy and shiny, always beating it away
Frantic spray floods the luscious garden from behind
Trying to swim beneath a language o’ an elaborate mind
Winter crushes drool over lovely eyes
On top, producing no sleep as we lie
Together, eternity is an essential chain
Manipulating me through bitter rain
Mothers can ask to stop, but still get to blow
I pound your fluff and then must go
Getting shot in some hair is easy when you are not above
Shadows o’ their enormous size is what you vision and love

Circa 1998

*Author’s Note: I feel I should explain this mess. It was written in college on a buddy’s fridge with the non-x-rated magnetic poetry. It is horribly juvenile and I love it all the more for that reason.

Detached From This Very Moment

man-1943586.jpg

Detached from this very moment
Divided from the tumultuous past
Cleansed of all those broken hearts
Never allowing those storms to last
Unplugged from the hatred spewing
Their immoral intent will not be condoned
Souls can’t listen when the mouth rages
Settle in; victory reached when love is shown
