Don’t Be Afraid To Call Out Evil

Don’t be afraid to call out evil
Make sure you know where you stand
No longer hiding in the crevices & shadows
Appeasement merely allows hate to expand
You’ll need to be armed with more than love
For their guns & bombs remain indiscriminate
The world must rise together from their roots
Governments working for peace that’s counterfeit
We cannot tolerate the lies & backroom deals
Reject the leaders that won’t support the people’s claim
Our moral guidance needs a little more prayer
Stand with me; let us greet love with a righteous name

Hitting Rock Bottom With An Articulate Woman

Hitting rock bottom with an articulate woman

Now I can see love was not in her view

Misguided choices of delicate wonder

Bringing to the forefront curiosity anew

You may call it a travesty or much worse

I am merely a person of no consequence

Our downfalls reside within our own skin

Hate me, but no blame for her moral sense

I never knew her purpose & never asked

Burned once for being too close to her wiles

Recoiled with her artifice grasped at last

Any form of compassion was not her style

“The depth and strength of a human character are defined by its moral reserves. People reveal themselves completely only when they are thrown out of the customary conditions of their life, for only then do they have to fall back on their reserves.”
– Leon Trotsky
