Perhaps We Should Outlaw Hate?

cemetery-1538646.jpg

Perhaps we should outlaw hate
Tired of them dictating our actions
Forcing us to fear living normal lives
Their bombs & their guns desire immediate redaction
Appeasement never worked in the past
We can’t survive by filling rifles with flowers
But I never want to hate like my enemy
Somehow, a united front is needed by the World Powers
But I reckon they’ll continue to squabble
Letting every opportunity pass on by
Their egos reinforced by their Cold War arsenals
But the truth remains, how many more innocents have to die?

I’m Not At Your Level Of Cool

table-tennis-1432176.jpg

I’m not at your level of cool
I don’t wear sepia filtered tank tops
I don’t own $200 neon wayfarers
I still wear normal, rubber flip flops
I’m not as tied to this world
There’s no room for a brand new Audi
I’d rather turn my focus
Write a little to seduce a delicious Hottie
You can continue to delude yourself
Ignore the life you forgot to mention
But I know what you’re missing
A woman worthy of your time & attention

From The Brink Of Normality

glass-845853.jpg

From the brink of normality
Brought back to stranger realms
Blinking away the intense pitch black
Delirious dreams remain at the helm
Beauty a steady crushing force
Never before seen lips so malevolent
Unknown to a rapturous mind
Leaving us only with our original intent

I’m Not Perfect

david-964760.jpg

I’m not perfect
Your knees won’t tremble from this aging face
I don’t possess Herculean strength
But somewhere inside I can summon a poet’s grace
I’m not Michelangelo’s David
Don’t have the portfolio of Scrooge McDuck
I’m a normal guy with abnormal passions
But of your opinions…. I don’t really care

Suppressing All Normal Emotions

woman-1070573.jpg

Suppressing all normal emotions
Pushing away anything that can hurt
Dos mas cerveza por favor
Life for sale under those miniskirts
The sun baking away all energy
Narrow streets with unfamiliar voices
Paranoid of the peddlers’ greed
Caution or you’ll always feel these choices
