Watching The Storms On The Horizon

Watching the storms on the horizon
Keeping my brim down low
The sunshine warming my back
Clouds; thoughts the Lord only knows
But it won’t always be this warm
Where I’m going, a chills to be found
Turbulence, but I’m forever loyal
Focused; I won’t let us run aground

Her Saturated Sex

Her saturated sex
Wax; the Summer’s teetering fast
Closing in on her hotel room
Simmering in a passion that’ll make it last
The coast rises out of a dormant state
Sunshine bursting, gentle & warm
Strutting; pure confidence of love
A tightrope of the exaggerated norm

Summer Comes Crashing Down Upon Us

girl-1562091.jpg

Summer comes crashing down upon us
The cliches of sunshine cannot be overstated
We grow warmer & friendlier in the heat
The smiles & the bright sky are interrelated
We’ve been bundled up for far too long
Fleeing society for the beaches to lessen stress
Stripping yourself of these daily burdens
Smelling of sweat & suntan lotion as we undress

Speeding Through Green Lights

sunrise-1582670.jpg

Speeding through green lights
Welcoming the rites of Spring
A warm day to rise & smile
Walk softly & listen to the birds sing
A fiddle & bagpipes call out
Traits of hope & smiles in the air
Release the frustration of Winter
Be free; dance out in your underwear
Feel the heat of the morning sun
Pour yourself an early glass of wine
Stretch out with a wink for me
Bare skin kissed by the glorious sunshine

By The Dim Light Of Morning

coffee-1174199.jpg

By the dim light of morning
The world awakens around me
Slowly shaking off its slumber
& I need another cup of coffee
Love won’t dismantle hate
But surely can’t make it any worse
A passion brighter than sunshine
I’ll don wayfarers & write another verse

I Was Mortally Wounded In Love

fantasy-1576865.jpg

I was mortally wounded in love
So here I sit, writing verse after verse
My soul wilting, returning to nature
Damn, feelings no more than a curse
But you’ve got to keep on living
Knowing there’s an end to the bitter night
We’ll find the light of morning sunshine
In the meantime, we’ll have all we write

We’re Dealing With Our Daily Struggles

We’re dealing with our daily struggles

Some are obviously much more dire

But no one can minimize your pain

There’s no sunshine when you’re in the mire

Facedown, it’s difficult to have any hope

But know darkness will eventually burn away

The fog will lift & you’ll see the light

The Lord will always bring you to another day

I’m Not Who You Think I Am

sun-flower-1536088.jpg

I’m not who you think I am
A smooth operator along the Rhine
But Deutschland was so long ago
I’ve traded heartache for this sunshine
Your notions & guesses are invalid
I’m not who you’ve conjured in your head
Cannot be contained by your notions
I’m free to roam wild instead

Returning To Simplicity

aptos-296159.jpg

Returning to simplicity
Tossing out these fledgling fates
Stunted growth increasing these days
Hindered by our technological rates
I don’t want to watch my soul wilt
I want to break free & soak up the sunshine
I’m through with this culture of victims
You’ll hear the dial tone & know its mine
