When My Time Is Finished

viewpoint-3337274_1920.jpg

When my time is finished

You may say whatever you want about me

That I never grew up

That I contain no redeeming qualities

My words were hollow & juvenile

My attempts at piracy weren’t any good

But one thing will never be said

That I didn’t love her the best I could

Early Evenings With My Love

Early evenings with my love
Leading my girl by the hand
I’m quietly taking liberties
Her kisses; I’m unable to stand
I’m smitten with this kind lady
Color of lips that will never fade
Taking my heart in stride
Time & tide, falling to retrograde
Flicks of poetry with my tongue
Our embrace is a forbidden oasis
Wearing only sheets in bed
Flesh & mind; now & forever interlaces

When I Was Young & Dumb

When I was young & dumb

Pretty girls with no souls were a distraction

My fancy bounced from every girl
Who chanced to flirt

Somewhere along the time
I figured out my priorities

I dedicated my heart
Searching for something pure
Something genuine

I found her
&
I knew

Down the road
Ten plus years later
She is still mine

I love her all the more
Because
She doesn’t need me
But she wants me anyway

The Rings Spreading Into The Wood

The rings spreading into the wood
A permanent scar within the grain
Memories drip down the side of the glass
Time passed; no longer identify the pain
For that’s not who we ever want to be
Watching the results, the answers disintegrate
Take my hand, forever love my flawed being
Together we’ll protect, no need to self-medicate
We can exist just as we were meant to be
Fear, hate, envy; we don’t want any of those
But rather to be a survivable type of love
I hope we can be honest, happy & fully exposed

Skyfall

three-3075752_1920.jpg

It’s not a crime to be pretty
Wearing rented dresses, searching for a breadwinner
Socialites & other plastic people
No redeeming qualities, but she wants to be thinner
Her vagina will accept almost anything
Whether it be dollars, pounds, marks or kroner
A consummate professional at all times
She expects to be well paid for every geriatric boner
You don’t look gift whores in the mouth
Searching for a sugar daddy, anyone will do
Sitting in the bullpen, hoping to get promoted
Waiting to pluck her next victim, how many already gone through
That swath leaving nothing to the imagination
Offended when the whispers mention a gold digger
Everyone can spy those silicone scars
Next time she’ll go a couple of cups bigger
Sucking more than the marrow out of life
She’s trading her youth for money & security
But once tarnished, Innocence forever besmirched
Time is constantly magnifying all your impurities
There are certain priorities in this life
A father must keep his daughters off the pole
But something much less discussed nowadays
What do you do once she grew without a soul
This scene is littered with heinous & fickle creatures
Cloaked, it slowly begins to scandalize & appall
Men with large billfolds & absolutely no shame
The current failure of society & they call it Skyfall

I’m Into Trying New Things

bed-945881.jpg

I’m into trying new things
Alternate positions to give you an extra gasp
Weaving words through this existence
Weakened knees, begging me to unclasp
I’m emboldened by your Earthly vessel
But a beautiful soul, you can’t dispossess
But enough of these intricate notions
I believe it’s time to get you undressed

Smelling Coffee Long Before

Smelling coffee long before
These tired eyes were ever meant to open
Dreading wakin’ and meetin’ people
No time like now, so here’s to hopin’
The day started & it’s past time to rise
One foot out & eventually the other leg
I’m going to need more of this magic juice
I feel society comin’ at me like the damn plague

Don’t Worry About All The Little Things

city-569093_1920.jpg

Don’t worry about all the little things
Mere details in your ongoing existence
The small decorations on your story
Paling in comparison to love’s actual distance
Focus on the sunshine, where happiness lurks
Ignore the naysayers & look towards your time
You’ll shine & blossom into something beyond
So hunker down, prepare your soul for your prime

Have We Forgotten

snow-2952307_1920.jpg

Have we forgotten that we’re a rebellious people
Cashing checks under a drifter’s pseudonym
But together, we race across time, surviving
Embracing the unity of singing outlawed hymns
Lately, crying about a falsified history
Disillusioned, disappointed, disingenuous
I have no faith in movements and isms
They’re tinged with the superfluous
I believe in honor & service to the people
Treat each as an individual, never a group
Freedom & liberty distilled down to purest forms
Or else, we’ll see this hatred played out in an endless loop
